Love the tone, song structure is a bit awkward(bored me a bit), not enough low end in your mix.

^sums it up, nice work and gl in the MAC

Chthonic-Waves responds:

I like awkward structures.. Not the same old bullshit over and over. Sorry it bored you I'm thinking you have ADD

This is hilarious.

I didnt think anyone actually enjoyed producing mainstream house crap.

ERAmatica responds:

Hellz yeah! I made the beat then just came up with some bullshit goofy lyrics!

very strong sense of rhythm! Doesnt come very too often in "classical" music.

Been playin a lot of smash bros melee lately and this is right along the lines of the original songs for that game, namely the sound of your orchestra comes to mind. I just love that combination of instruments and phrasing at 32 secs. Add some good breaks, some instrument solos and this is money!

Perfect and professional loop, definitely looking forward to a whole piece.

DavidOrr responds:

Thanks jpbear, the smash series is an awesome one to be referenced to! I really enjoy the moment at 0:32 as well -- it's the moment in the music where the ensemble comes together through the tension and forms a real coherent melody. Powerful stuff!

Thanks for the review :)

Well

I know you like that Lo-fi quasi-industrial sound, but I'm not too much of a fan. Namely the drumkit gives this impression.

The sub end was my favorite part of this track, that and the nice break. I dont like purely chromatic stuff much at all, but a lot of more chromatic DnB songs makeup for it with the complexity of their basslines. Unfortunately the bass patches seemed rather simple overall, and imo theirs a lack of actually bass end, sub and high end were good though.

Just a thought, your not LPing your sub low enough, so you're having trouble giving your actual bass enough bass?

SpaceTheory responds:

My mix kept peaking if I tried to give it more bass. I wanted that part to be loud as possible, so therefore less bass. :(

Shits awesome, and its freakin FL core!

Extremely high grade neurofunk matieral dude.

basslines were crunchy as hell, the high end was freakin perfect but the low end felt a bit empty. That said its still fucking ridiculous, what type of filters did you use in FL?

The drums are also some of the best FL core drums I've heard,

Pro as hell man, beautiful work!

SteakJohnson responds:

thanks man, for modulation of the bassline i had 2 lowpasss filters and 1 hipass layered together (fruity love filter) and a flanger then lots of eqs n distortion. wish i had time to add more intro stuff it sounsds kinda empty...

Good start

You know what you're doing and have some pretty intricate things in this track. The drums were nice n tight but there were some downsides as well.

The mix is all over the place, not enough sub or low bass on the kick. Bass synths dont have enough high end. Supersaw is very low quality. The hi hats are pitched up (i think) and sound stretched/grainy.

Tirde responds:

Thank you! This is what I have been waiting from here; constructive criticism.

I might just as well blame the mixing problems on my shitty headphones, I can't really use speakers because of the apartment I live in has walls made of paper. I'll be getting some new headphones (AKG K-701) and I hope I can hear the problems in the mix better with them. Btw, the hihats are meant to sound like that, I think it sounds cool :v.

Thanks again!

Regarding my ngadm review

dont you hear the horrible smiley face eq going on dude? For real its excruciating

aliaspharow responds:

It's called a vocal EQ. I let allot of room for that most of all. I may have over did it a bit and i did start to notice. Was working on it today.

Very good first

You have a good grasp on your drums and cool fx (they are a tad too loud though, the fx).

The synth a bit white noisey though to me? Feels kinda ruff, some people could like it i guess.

Felt there was a bit of clipping/over limiting going on to me as well.

Throw in a cool melody and its cash man. Get yo bass on.

KKSlider60 responds:

Yeah, mastering is still kind of difficult to grasp at some points. I guess I should completely change my usual work approach just for this style. For instance, I can't rely on my loudspeakers since they pump up too much bass and I can't distinguish much from the sound mess. I will definitely watch more tutorials, thanks for the tips ;)

Grow a Pair of Nuts

Your a new audio producer, the production value on this is extremely sub-par, even for Newgrounds standards.

You probably feel mighty on your 3000 listen horse, dont. Kr1z and other reviewers on this song are extremely talented people who actually know what music is. Actually listen to their opinions instead of saying "hmph im better than you" when you are the complete opposite. (even if thats not what you meant that what you came off as).

The mixing hurts on this song, the melody took no effort to write (its from another song), the melody is extremely annoying, and it overall sucks. There is not one decent thing about this song.

Fanboys will suck long ugly throbbing VG dick, thats the only reason this shit is on the top. (whether you proxied or not aside)

I am not trolling, this song is seriously that bad. Learn from you mistakes.

DJSpire responds:

Jesus fucking Christ, I get it by this point that this piece of shit sucks.
God damn.

Let me say that this isn't a good representation of my abilities.
Actually go and listen to my other music before saying that I suck as a producer. Just saying, several professional musicians have given me the thumbs up on my other songs.

I made this in about an hour, I didn't spend a bunch of time on it.
My other stuff is otherwise, and it's noticeable.

Also, you act like you know me somehow. Saying that I probably feel might on my 3000 listen horse. I don't. Because I know this songs sucks. And I know that the 3000 listens is just a result of somehow making Top 5. I never expected for it to.

Reminds me of some of my earlier(last year) stuff

My favorite thing about this song is the overall mix, not too harsh but powerful. So much improvement from the last submission of yours i heard. I might drag on a bit in this review but im in the mood.

The melody is practically devoid of syncopation, syncopation plays a serious role in groove and the general "interesting-ness" of a riff. The only melody in the song is rather bland(probably due to the syncopation). dont be afraid to add layers to fill up that EQ. Oh and unless your producing techier house, deviating from one chord is a plus.

Having those nifty FX every 4 or 8 bars, on buildups, and on breakdowns is practically the most important thing when producing "pro" music. Dont be afraid to spam FX. If you look at the best producers on here(xkore comes to mind), their project files are LOADED with sweeps up and downs. Its those nifty almost subliminal sounds that keep music interesting.

The bass tail on your kick is very long, which could be a preference. With a bass tail that present and long your leaving no space for a bassline, which again could be a preference but i tend to enjoy a nice groovy house bassline. The bass tail is so powerful in this song i would almost mistake it for hardstyle :P. Most of the big boys(you named feed me once) tend to have REALLLY short tails on their kicks, this leaves room for more bassline and an overall easier less muddy mix. Examine one of Feed me's EQ if ya dont believe me.

Its probably just me but i dont really enjoy that clap. A lot of people use it(or similair ones) and i just find it tiny and uninteresting. I would have used a different one, but that 200% personal preference.

Keep this work up sir and soon youll be pro as a motherfucker. you're almost there, just work on your melody and FX mainly.

Good day.

DLBeezy responds:

Much thanks for the review. I fully agree with all of your suggestions. Just to save myself from a huge wall of text. I even notice the emptiness in my songs, yet I'm too lazy to fill it up. Hah.
