Artist Namessss

Posted by jpbear - October 17th, 2011

Changing my name from Masq to Jova I think.

Gotta decide before I make all my official pages. Masq was to famous of a word and was too serious, Jova has a more oriental feel and actually has meaning to me. Its an alternate spelling of a shorthand nickname of mine "Giova".

Eventually I'll even have to change my NG username, which isnt fun at all :(

Tell me if ya dig it. How do yall feel about artist names?

I'm having doubts about my artist name too D:
Hey I like "Masq", "Jova" is cool too but if I had to choose I'd stay with "Masq" (just my opinion haha)
Also, isn't there any way of changing your username without creating a new account? Maybe asking a mod or something?

Yea mods will change it, but building a reputation around a name is a pretty big thing. Might never change it on here lol.

Theres a famous Starcraft player named Masq and a amateur rock band called Masq, and many other less notable uses of the word. Too many people have thought it up lol.

Im thinkin Jova is hereee to staayy.

Is garlagan your official name? Its rather elvish to me lol.

haha indeed it's kinda elvish, which is why I want to change it lol and yes it's my official name :P
I'm not really worried about reputation cause almost no one knows me here lol But I don't know if I'll be able to come up with a better name haha.

Now that I've read it again, Jova is a really cool artist name. I guess it will probably stay then?

probably Jova, im afraid to change things though :(

names are ez just think up something bad ass, and i like elves :3

If there already are bands and stuff with the name 'Masq', then you're pretty much spot-on in choosing a new stage name. ^_-

I take it some people pick artist names because they are cool, but I picked mine (Troisnyx) out of significance.

Whats it mean?

sounds compricated

Trois is French for three, Nyx is the name of the Greek goddess of night (I took it to symbolise 'darkness'), Étienne (which ultimately doesn't land in my stage name) is the closest first name you can get when my first name is reversed. And it's the French equivalent of Stephen.

I coined that name when I was 13 but I haven't changed it, because of the significance behind it, and I've shortened my stage name to Troisnyx some three years ago.

Pretty cool name story :)

Hope you have fun in the CD project.

I actually think im staying with Masq, I've kinda grown attached to it by now. And not really anyone in the music field has used it.
